Draw sequential numbers onto the pages
Choose a starting number and placement
Set the starting number, choose top or bottom combined with left, center or right, and select 10, 12 or 16 point text. The default is 1, bottom center, 12 point. The current input parses an integer and falls back to 1 for an empty or zero value.
PDFcraft draws each number with Helvetica in dark gray, incrementing it across all pages. Placement uses the visible crop/media intersection and existing rotation. A page too small for the chosen number and font size causes an error rather than a promised fit.
Printed numbers are not PDF page labels
This is a visible text overlay. It does not change the page count/order, rewrite PDF page-label metadata, or renumber internal object identities and navigation targets. Existing printed numbers are not detected or erased, so a second set can overlap them.
Controlled checks found the expected text additions and tested placement on cropped and rotated pages. They do not guarantee appearance in every viewer or signature preservation. Inspect the first, last and smallest pages after downloading.
Processing and preparation
Use an unencrypted PDF that can be parsed and choose a clear margin for the overlay. The numbering code works locally and does not upload the document for stamping. Network access may still be needed to load the website; keeping the original lets you retry placement without accumulating overlays.
